Red Butte Garden Amphitheater

Project Summary

The Amphitheater facility has been one of the more popular venues for outdoor concerts along the Wasatch Front for the past 15 or 20 years, and the Red Butte Garden outdoor concert series is held there each summer.

This project involved a complete renovation of the facility in which the lawn seating was greatly expanded, patios for ADA seating were constructed, a new stage was built, and a concessions/catering kitchen and restroom facilities were constructed. Several outdoor garden areas were added with stone walls and arbors to create intimate settings for wedding ceremonies and parties.

The project involved the design and installation of upgraded lighting at the stage, upgraded power and control connections for portable performance lighting and sound equipment, and floodlighting to illuminate the lawn seating and exit walkways area during intermissions and for exiting at the conclusion of evening concerts. Low voltage pathway lighting was designed to illuminate the walking paths leading to the intimate garden areas as well as stairways around the seating area. The pathway lighting is kept on during evening events and was designed to provide unobtrusive illumination that does not distract from the concert experience.
