VBFA was responsible for the design and construction of this 20,000 square foot ice sheet in Ogden, Utah. The ice sheet is located in a new $5,000,000 facility with seating for 2,000 spectators. VBFA performed all of the civil and site development design, as well as the ice rink and ammonia refrigeration design, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for the project. The ice rink includes a state-of-the-art water purification system for use in making top quality ice. The facility served as a major Olympic site for the 2002 Olympics. Site requirements include parking, speed drop-off lanes, retaining walls, and fire department access. A water supply study was also performed to upgrade the site infrastructure.
