Mound Fort Jr. High Innovation Center

Project Summary

The Mound Fort Jr. High Innovation Center is a state-of-the-art educational facility focused on fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking among students. VBFA provided expertise to incorporate cutting-edge mechanical systems that promote energy efficiency, improve indoor environmental quality, and contribute to a sustainable learning environment. One of the unique features of this project is its “Building as a Learning Tool” function, which means building systems, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, are color coded and made visible to the students so they can learn how they work together to operate the building. The award-winning facility serves as a model for future innovation centers and demonstrates the critical role that mechanical engineering plays in the built environment.
