Project Summary

The renowned Eccles Theater is a 2,500-seat performing arts center located in downtown Salt Lake City, and includes a café and black box theater. To meet the goals of Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County, the building was required to deliver a high-performing, efficient mechanical system. VBFA designed this system to meet LEED Gold standards, and the end result has led to millions of dollars in energy cost savings, all while ensuring optimal comfort for the venue’s visitors and performers. One strategy that helped VBFA achieve the project’s sustainability goals was to install specific mechanical systems in different event spaces throughout the theater based on the use of each space.
